Senior B

St Bedes OB 4 FC Headingley 2

A great result for St Bedes 1st team as they brush aside a respected team and tough opposition, This result is for our inspirational centre back who broke his arm in training last week.

Divison 5

St Bedes III 5 -1 Alwoodley III

This was a convincing win after 90 minutes but it wasn't until the second half that Bedes started to dominate. The first half was even at 1-1 with Kev Benson scoring after good work by George Nash. Bedes were denied a second in the first half after a strike by Dave Allen was diverted in by Benson only to be judged wrongly offside. Alwoodly had most of their chances from long range which always went high and wide however their goal came after a looped shot was spilled by keeper Dixie who managed to catch it at the second attempt but behind the line. The ref wouldn't of given it had dixie's face not said it all (honest though!)

The second half with inspirational substituations changed the game, Muddy on for Burke ran the defence ragged scoring 2 goals, Sharpy on for Nash was solid winning every challenge and supplying the forwards frequently. He also scored after his shot was deflected in by a Alwoodley defender.  Hayward on for Benson allowed Hallam to push up scoring the fifth goal.

Benson and Muddy also had chances to add more goals along with Allen who's late thunderbolt screamed wide.

All in all a good performance with the first 3 points of the season, we have played three good teams so far and I don't see most of the other teams in the league being as good as the three we have just played, that should mean points in future will be easier to come by.
